Restoration and Maintenance Record

  • Restoration by Grahame Rhodes (completed around 2014)
The car underwent a full restoration, including an engine rebuild with new piston rings, big-end bearings, valves, and timing chain. Parts for this work were sourced from Omicron. The odometer was reset after the rebuild, and the engine has since covered approximately 9,000 miles.
Rhodes also fitted aluminium doors, bonnet, and boot lid, as earlier Fulvias featured these lightweight components.
  • 2018–2019: Work at Ramsport UK Ltd
The car was completely stripped for repainting (glass-out respray). Adjustments were made to improve panel fit, window mechanisms, and minor electrical systems. Brakes were serviced and bled.
    Total cost: £8,400.
  • 2022: Work at Omicron Engineering Ltd
The Correct Solex 42 carburettors were sourced, rebuilt and fitted, replacing smaller Dellorto units. Additional work included a new clutch, repairs to the gear linkage bushings, solder repairs to the radiator header tank, a new rev counter, and refurbishment of all five alloy wheels.
    Total cost: £5,500.
  • 2025: Work at GME Springs, Sheffield
Rear leaf springs were refurbished and refitted.
  • Overall this Fulvia HF is a very charming car and incredibly good example. It drives brilliantly and puts a smile on your face given any decent country road you face If you would like to book an appointment, then please do not hesitate to contact us to make arrangements.
