ABOUT THIS CAR
THIS CAR
Our 968 Sport was delivered new to Merlin Cambria Porsche on the 18th of May 1994.
The car has spent the vast majority of it’s life in England, with a brief stint on the Isle of Wight between 2005 and 2010.
This particular car does boast a rather interesting provenance, being owned at one point by the renowned motoring journalist, Andrew Frankel. Andrew famously purchased the car just so that he would be allowed to drive and review the newly launched Porsche 918 Hyper Car. The terms were as follows:
I had to turn up in my own Porsche. Not a Porsche from a press fleet, borrowed from a friend, or acquired at gunpoint at the traffic lights, but one that actually belonged to me.The Daily Telegraph
I had to turn up in my own Porsche. Not a Porsche from a press fleet, borrowed from a friend, or acquired at gunpoint at the traffic lights, but one that actually belonged to me.
Impressively, he concludes the article by explaining that, across the Scottish highlands, the 968 and the 918 always finished the route at the same time… proving just how capable the 968 is! (A copy of this article as published in The Daily Telegraph and GT Porsche are included in the sale.)
The car is offered with an impressive history file, and it is abundantly clear that this car has always been kept to an incredibly high standard (please see our Documentation section for a full gallery).

The car presents very well for it’s age, both inside and out. The interior seats were reclothed within the last few years, which really lifts the cars overall interior feel. We took the time to have the interior deep cleaned, and the exterior received a full 2-stage machine polish.
Under inspection we found a small oil leak from the filter housing, which was repaired prior to being advertised. Autofarm carried out the work, and the invoice can be seen within our Documentation section.
We welcome any viewings of the car at our premises in Bicester Heritage, and would urge anyone who is interested to come and take a look for themselves. This truly is a Porsche that does not disappoint!
