VEHICLE DETAILS
ABOUT THIS CAR
The Land Rover Series III was produced from 1978 – 1985, and stands in history as a testament to its own success having sold nearly as well as it predecessor despite being launched during an incredibly challenging economic climate.
Largely the same as the Land Rover Series II, the Series III featured some small cosmetic changes along with some mechanical upgrades like increased compression (from 7:1 to 8:1) and a new 4-Speed Manual gearbox that featured synchromesh on all four gears.
Powered by a 2.25L Inline 4 petrol engine producing 73bhp, the Series III is noted for being the model that brought Land Rover its 1,000,000th motor car in 1976.
This Land Rover is being offered for sale as a RUNNING PROJECT.
The car starts and drives well, but does need mechanical and cosmetic improvement.
The canvas roof is in good order, bearing no signs of damage.
Private registration “313CCD” is included in the sale.
There is no service history present with this vehicle.
We have driven this car from London to Bicester with no complaints, even at proper speeds on the A40, all be it very cold and incredibly windy. It has all the true character of an old Landy and gets smiles everywhere you go. If you’re looking for an ongoing going project, look no further…
