Delivered new to Dusseldorf, Germany, on the 20th June 1955.

Sadly, we know little about the car’s early life. Our knowledge begins in 2009 when the car was bought from US Austin-Healey specialist, Fred Brandeneur (of Fred’s Healeys).

The car was originally painted Carmine Red, but the owner commissioned Fred to carry out a full nut-and-bolt restoration of the car immediately after purchase.

During this 2-year long process, the body was completely stripped back and resprayed in the beautiful two-tone Pacific Green / Old English White colour scheme it wears today.

What’s more, the engine and all the mechanicals were fully rebuilt.

Once completed, the car was imported and registered here in the UK in 2011, where it has been used sparingly since.

The car is accompanied by a full weather kit in superb shape, as well as the correct tool kit and jack.

Despite having little in the way of history/paperwork, the quality of the restoration speaks for itself. The car presents in absolutely immaculate condition, as can be seen in the gallery of photographs below, and is a true ‘on-the-button’ starter.

What we think

The quality of the restoration work that’s gone into this car, and the small amount of use it’s had since, mean that this is essentially a full-restored car for non-fully restored money.

There are lots of other examples out there for similar money that claim ‘older’ restorations, but have become quite tired around the edges since. Not this car.

We urge anyone who’s interested to have a good look through the photographs we’ve taken, especially the underside shots. The car is clean as a whistle. Not a spec of underseal in sight.

Some people will be put off by the fact it’s a LHD, but anyone who has driven a 100/4 will confirm how little this matters. The car is so much smaller, so much narrower, that most other traffic, that even though you’re sat on the other side of the car, you don’t feel the least bit out of place on the road! And, of course, if you do decide to head across the Channel for a summer jaunt, the car will be even more in its element!
